India Institute is an international award winning independent, not-for-profit think tank based in Delhi. Started in Nov 2010, it promotes dignity, choice and enterprise through innovative research, evidence- based policy advocacy and litigation for free market policies. School education, Higher education, Law and Property rights are our 4 main focus areas. Our legal research and litigation wing, Centre for Justice, is among the first legal research institutions in the country dedicated to fighting for freedom.
RECOGNITION
India Institute was the only Asian think tank to receive a Templeton Freedom Award in 2012. The prize was in recognition of a pioneering study of private schools in Bihar- India’s first landscape study of schools in a city and the first study to use GPS for analyzing spatial distribution of schools, it is now being replicated in some other cities of India and Africa.
Our mobile app, itorney: a pocket lawyer, was the 2014 winner of the Think Tank Shark Tank competition at New York.It provides legal first aid, deters police misconduct, strengthen rule of law and empowers the common man with knowledge of law.
