India Institute is providing you with an opportunity to be a change-agent in today’s world. We are looking for a Communications Associate who is interested in pursuing a career focused on public policy communications. Our Communication Associate will gain experience in a wide range of communications disciplines, including writing, drafting letters, social media (blogs, wikis, podcasts, use of Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook), public relations (press and agency interaction), and employee communications.
Assignments for the position include carrying out all agency interaction, writing for our websites, using social business tactics, producing multimedia content, conducting industry research, and preparing for press interviews.
All undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply. Successful applicants will be bright, ambitious self-starters with an interest in public policy, politics and communications. Excellent writing skills and online media experience are required.
WORK HOURS : 9:30 am – 6:00 pm (Full Time)
OFFICE LOCATION : Saket, New Delhi, India
QUALIFICATIONS : BA or higher degree in English, journalism, marketing, public or media relations, communications, or related field
OR
Demonstrated experience in one or more of these areas
REQUIRED SKILLS :
- Exceptional English verbal, written, & presentation skills
- Highly organized, attention to detail, results oriented
- Strong editing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer programs
- Basic design/layout experience desired
- Knowledge of electronic media such as Web sites, e-Newsletters, Social Media etc.
- Team player with leadership skills, abilities and desire to interact with people at all levels
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manage all government agency interaction via RTI applications
- Manage social media presence of the Institute via Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Youtube, Blogs, etc.
- Develop & update general and program brochures, media kits, key messages, fact sheets, & other collateral material as needed.
- Assist with coordination of updates & improvements on the Institute’s websites
- Assist with coordination of media outreach & coverage with media releases, TV/radio interviews, feature stories, press conferences, etc.
- Create and coordinate public speaking engagements with/for India Institute spokespersons
- Coordinate photography of events, activities, etc. for use in publications, media, etc.; maintain graphics & photo files.
